Concentric Counselling

When the Japanese mend broken objects they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold, because they believe that when something’s suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful
— Barbara Bloom

Counselling is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves; to heal, to change and to grow. We all experience difficulties and distress in our lives and, if this becomes overwhelming, counselling can be very helpful. Within every one of us, there is the capacity to be all that we want to be. I am dedicated to facilitating you in your counselling, as you explore and embrace your possibilities. Telling your story out loud can be profoundly healing; it is a privilege for me to bear witness to your experience, and to sit with you in your vulnerability.

I’m aware that counselling can be hard work, and it can take us to challenging places. However, the counselling room, and the therapeutic relationship, is the ideal space in which to travel to those places – a respectful and deeply caring environment; a place of safety and trust, where it is ok to be vulnerable. I believe that we find strength in our vulnerabilities, and I have witnessed the power of acknowledging and accepting our deepest pains, traumas and losses, and accepting our cracks as part of our beauty.

There is a crack in everything; that’s how the light gets in
— Leonard Cohen
